Colin Nemeth
Welcome to my blog!
I’m Colin Nemeth, a 21-year-old student with a love for all things creative. From a young age, I’ve found joy in writing, drawing, painting, and of course, music. Whether I’m doodling in a sketchbook, writing poetry, or diving into album reviews, I’ve always needed an outlet for creative expression. This blog is my space to share that side of me—everything from spontaneous art pieces to random thoughts on music, or just whatever I feel like putting out into the world.
Even though life has taken me down a path toward medicine and neuroscience, my artistic side never left. Growing up, I dreamed of being a writer or an artist, and now that I’m studying Cognitive and Behavioral Neuroscience, I’m still making sure to nurture that part of myself. Sometimes that’s through music, other times through painting, or even just taking a moment to write down random ideas and inspirations. So here I am, circling back to blogging and sharing my journey.
Why a blog, you ask? Well, because I don’t want to lose touch with this part of me. Blogs were big for me from 2021-2023, but after taking a break, I’m ready to revive it with new energy. I’ve cleared out most of the old stuff (nobody needs to see me going through my teenage breakups!), and now this space is for fresh perspectives and fun. Think of it as a mix of creativity and reflection, all while I navigate the rest of life.
Outside of my creative pursuits, I’m also a student at Villanova University, just outside of Philadelphia, PA. I’m majoring in Cognitive and Behavioral Neuroscience, with minors in Psychology, Peace & Justice, and Sustainability. I’ve been lucky enough to dive into research on substance use and addiction, which has been a huge passion of mine, and it’s shaping my future plans to attend medical school. But enough about the heavy stuff—let’s get back to the fun!
When I’m not studying, you’ll find me deeply involved in Villanova’s campus life. I’m part of the Orientation program, where I love welcoming new students to our community. I’m also a proud Blue Key tour guide, showing off the campus to prospective students, and I have an ongoing commitment to Special Olympics, where I’ve taken on leadership roles in events like the Fall Festival. This year, I’ll be running the opening and closing ceremonies for thousands of athletes, families, and volunteers—an exciting and slightly nerve-wracking challenge!
Outside of Villanova, I call Charleston, SC, home, where my family lives with our three golden doodles. My older sisters are spread between DC and Charleston, and their support keeps me grounded through everything.
So welcome to my blog, and thanks for being here. I’m excited to share my creative journey with you!
Love you mean it,
CBN
